Why manufacturers should embrace HTML5 for the second screen

HTML5 code is found in many set-top boxes and should be implemented in more second-screen applications for tablet computers, Jonathan Ruff of Arris said Thursday at a conference in New York City. HBO's Dina Juliano said HTML5 "allows us to have greater ubiquity or get to more platforms faster. It takes away the time we spend on building the individual platform or an individual piece of something."
