Calif. stem cell officials blast proposed constitutional amendment

Leaders of California's stem cell research program declared their opposition to a proposed state constitutional amendment giving state officials some authority over the $3 billion project approved by the voters last November. Members of the program's oversight board said the amendment would "make it extremely difficult, if not impossible" for stem cell research to move forward.
