Groups support bill to ban new taxes on car rentals

A group of car rental companies, travel industry associations and consumer groups is backing a bill that will put an end to new state or local excise taxes on car rentals, without repealing any current taxes. The Coalition Against Discriminatory Car Rental Excise Taxes says the taxes are unjust because they force rental car customers to fund projects that have nothing to do with renting a vehicle.
