Major marketers are spending more and more on Internet marketing, including banner ads, search advertising and video. The companies that buy, serve and track online advertising are increasingly being snapped up by larger players who want to provide online services to clients. As Digitas chairman and CEO David Kenny said: "The Internet was built on little companies. Now that we've got big advertisers putting money on the Internet, they need big scalable operations."
