Utah appoints seven superintendents to higher-ed boards

In what is believed to be a first in the U.S., Utah's governor this week named seven public school superintendents -- including the state schools chief -- to become voting members of the Utah Board of Regents and college boards of trustees. Officials hope the appointments will create a seamless education system from kindergarten through college.
