Florida still has shot at funds for high-speed rail

Florida may still be a contender for a portion of the $8 billion in federal funding for high-speed rail. The state has proposed a Tampa-Orlando-Miami line with trains traveling at speeds of up to 110 mph. However, Florida is competing with 27 other metro areas for a piece of the funding pie.
