Researchers look at microbicide candidates for HIV prevention

Researchers worldwide are looking at microbicides to deliver HIV and AIDS drugs to patients more effectively, while minimizing the risk of HIV transmission and drug resistance. Among these approaches are a flexible vaginal ring and a vaginal tablet that are designed to release two AIDS drugs at a certain time interval and a dissolving film that delivers HIV drug IQP-0528.
