Twitter cuts third-party advertisers from feed

Twitter announced that it will no longer allow third-party advertisers to inject ads into user feeds, as the social-media site prepares to launch its own Promoted Tweets service. Third-party advertisers such as Magpie and IZEA have built businesses inserting ads into user feeds, a practice that doesn't create revenue for Twitter and risks alienating users who feel bombarded by ads.
