Utah lawmaker proposes optional senior year of high school

A Utah state senator has proposed a measure to make the senior year of high school optional, a move he says will save the state $60 million. Some students say the year is "meaningless," noting that colleges only consider grades through the junior year. Some students skip their senior year in favor of getting an early jump on college courses.
