An aide to Sen. David Vitter, R-La., defended the senator's proposal to block a bill raising Interior Secretary Ken Salazar's salary until permitting procedures for offshore-drilling projects picked up. Vitter's actions drew flak from Salazar, Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., and columnist David Rogers. "I urge the Obama administration to prosecute. They'll make fools of themselves in court and make my boss a Louisiana folk hero at the same time," Vitter spokesman Luke Bolar said.
