Calif. Senate OKs curbs on in-state cockfighting

The California Senate has approved two bills meant to crack down on cockfighting in the state. One measure would increase the minimum fines imposed on individuals involved in cockfighting. The other bill would permit property owners and landlords to expel tenants who host cockfights, or who keep or raise fighting birds.
