NYSE will use RFID to keep traders in line

The New York Stock Exchange is installing a real-time location system on the hand-held computers of traders to ensure trading integrity. AeroScout RTLS will prevent traders from taking tablet devices from one floor to another where nonpublic information may be made available and affect stock values. Currently, security guards are used to keep the tablets on the right floor. "In that way, we can put the security guards to work elsewhere. It will also provide us with a better audit trail for regulatory purposes," said Lou Pastina, executive vice president of operations for NYSE Euronext.
