States, contractors turn rubble into roads

As construction costs increase and landfill space shrinks, contractors are looking for more ways to reuse or recycle the materials left over when structures must be demolished. Virginia officials estimate the state will save nearly half a million dollars by selling, reusing and recycling materials from two laboratory facilities rather than trucking the debris to a landfill.
