Massachusetts groups protest proposed science exam

A coalition of scientists, teachers and others wants the Massachusetts Board of Education to halt plans to implement a science exit exam, because, they say, science instruction should focus on lab work, rather than test preparation. A separate group of 27 lawmakers is urging a delay, out of concern students will not have time to prepare for the test.
