Report: Saudi textbooks preach religious intolerance

Saudi primary and secondary government schools are using textbooks that condemn Muslims and non-Muslims who oppose Islamic ultraconservatives, according to a report from the Institute for Gulf Affairs and the think tank Freedom House. The Saudi ambassador to the U.S. said a massive project under way to tone down textbook references to Wahhabism, the state's official religion and a fundamentalist form of Islam, will take time.
