Trouble at Federal Home Loan Banks raises questions about directors

Directors at the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks are being scrutinized for their supervision of the banks' executives. Several of the regional banks have been forced to rein in funding and suspend dividends as the value of the mortgage securities they bought has plummeted. The banks' regulator issued a report saying that some of the banks failed to pay sufficient attention to risks and have not made adequate investments in IT.
