3 Fed banks wanted to increase discount interest rate

A document released Tuesday shows that three of the Federal Reserve's 12 regional banks wanted to raise the interest rate for emergency loans issued by the central bank. Regional banks in Kansas City, St. Louis and Dallas cited improvements in the economy and outlined a case for increasing the interest rate last month. The Fed's board unanimously voted to hold the rate steady.
