ACS supports report seeking national strategy for climate change

The federal government should act immediately to curb carbon emissions and create a national plan for adapting to the effects of global warming, according to a report from the U.S. National Research Council. Bob Peoples, who leads the American Chemical Society's Green Chemistry Institute, said he agrees with the report. "It is really critical that we have some kind of a national strategy and policy going forward, because industry needs stability and guidance in making the business decisions about technology development," he said.
