Africa's retailers are growing along with middle class

Retailers across Africa are coming into their own and competing with companies from the U.S. and other developed countries that historically have had the market's consumers to themselves. As the massive continent's middle class expands, native retailers including East African supermarket chain Nakumatt Holdings and South African restaurant company Spur Corp. are building presence and market share.
