Furlough Fridays are over -- Hawaii teachers give up planning time

Teachers in Hawaii will not have to take 17 unpaid days next school year after Gov. Linda Lingle, teachers unions and the Department of Education struck a deal Tuesday to end "Furlough Fridays." Teachers had 17 furlough days during the 2009-10 school year. Under the deal, teachers will have to surrender six of their planning days.
