Jamaica hotels face cancellations amid violence

Gang violence in Jamaica in the past week has rocked the Caribbean island's tourism industry, and hotels say they are stepping up security to ensure guests' safety. As many as 300 hotel reservations have been canceled since Jamaica Prime Minister Bruce Golding declared a state of emergency on Sunday, and the Jamaica Hotel and Tourism Association plans a strong marketing campaign to improve its image after the outbursts that have killed at least 44 people.
