New York to host 2014 Super Bowl

The Jets' and Giants' New Meadowlands Stadium, which opens this year, is already set to make history: It will host the first-ever New York area Super Bowl, in 2014. The decision goes against NFL requirements that a stadium be covered or be located in an region where the weather will be 50 degrees or warmer, but no matter: creating "NFL branded weather-specific merchandise" was part of the contract.
