Next-gen biofuels use other industries' waste

First-generation biofuels used food crops as feedstocks, but researchers are working on a new wave of biofuels that will focus on turning waste products from other industries into clean energy. New technologies are in the pipeline that will convert grasses, wood chips and leftovers from the food industry into pure ethanol.
