Calif. landscape company alters business to survive weak economy

Bemus Landscape, a 40-year-old landscaping firm in San Clemente, Calif., has been able to weather the economic downturn by shifting its business focus from residential installations to commercial landscape maintenance. The move has helped the company endure the weak housing market. Jon Parry, the company's general manager, said the firm has decided to concentrate on landscape maintenance because it will bring steadier revenue in the long run.
