Jack in the Box finds post-recession comeback a tough climb

Remodeled stores and revamped menus haven't been enough to send Jack in the Box springing back from the recession. The chain's target audience of 20-something men is still struggling with high unemployment and an onslaught of newer chains such as Chipotle are hindering the 2,200-store chain's efforts to revamp its aging brand. "They need to find a way to differentiate themselves. If you think of Jack in the Box, I'm not sure what you think of anymore," said Technomic analyst Darren Tristano.
