Study links reduction in chronic inflammation with strawberry drink

Data on obese study participants found that those who drank a strawberry beverage after a high-carb, moderate-fat meal had a 25% reduction in interleukin 6 levels and a 13% reduction in C-reactive protein levels compared with those who had a placebo drink. The findings in the British Journal of Nutrition suggest that the antioxidants in strawberry drinks may help improve chronic inflammatory markers in patients, but that more study is needed.
