Study links reduction in chronic inflammation with strawberry drink

Data on obese study participants show that those who drank a strawberry beverage after a high-carb, moderate-fat meal had a 25% reduction in interleukin 6 levels and a 13% reduction in C-reactive protein levels compared with those who had a placebo drink. The findings in the British Journal of Nutrition suggest that antioxidants in strawberry drinks might improve chronic inflammatory markers in patients, but more study is needed.
