Experts tell Congress U.S. is not prepared for flu epidemic

One infectious disease expert said the government is paying more attention but the country "remains woefully unprepared for an influenza pandemic that could kill millions of Americans." The experts said Americans have no immunity against a new flu strain, hospitals do not have enough capacity for flu pandemic patients, there is no licensed vaccine against the avian influenza and not enough drugs are available to treat victims.
