NASA's Voyager 1 takes "historic step" to edge of solar system

NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft has reached the edge of the solar system, the Washington Post reports. The spacecraft is in a zone where the solar wind begins to give way to interstellar space, scientists say. NASA launched the Voyager 1 and the Voyager 2 28 years ago. Scientists are concerned Congress may kill the program to fund the president's plan to send humans to Mars and the moon.
