RIM promises to protect BlackBerry access

Research in Motion vowed to BlackBerry customers Tuesday that it would not bow to Indian government demands for access to messages as part of terrorism probes. RIM also told the government that it lacked the ability to enable any third party to read encrypted information contained in enterprise customers' devices nor could it provide the government with the encryption key needed to snoop inside those BlackBerrys.
