Tioga says IBS drug shows success in patients with pain, diarrhea

Tioga Pharmaceuticals says its investigational oral kappa opioid agonist, asimadoline, gave modest relief to patients with irritable bowel syndrome who had moderate to severe pain and diarrhea. Trials show the drug did not benefit people with constipation-predominant IBS or patients with only mild pain.
