Ambassador says House measures threaten open skies with EU

Protectionist measures adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives threaten the open-skies agreement of commercial aviation between the country and the EU, said John Bruton, the EU's ambassador to the U.S. Under the guise of tightening safety requirements, the House inserted "language which would negate the open-skies agreement" in the budget authorization for the Federal Aviation Administration, Bruton said.
