Developers put Wisconsin shopping-center plans on hold

Two Wisconsin shopping-center projects slated for 2009 have been dropped by their developers in response to economic conditions. Groundbreaking for the planned Pabst Farms Town Centre in Oconomowoc has been delayed by co-developer Developers Diversified Realty, while Simon Property Group Inc. has no timetable for its potential revitalization of the Southridge Mall in Greendale. "The new-development business is dead for a decade," CEO David Simon said.
