Report: AT&T offered text help to some backers of "Idol" winner

AT&T reportedly supplied free texting services to attendees at two parties in Arkansas in support of "American Idol" winner Kris Allen, but did not offer similar perks for runner-up Adam Lambert. AT&T, in a statement, said the company received invitations to the Allen fan parties and sent several local workers to demonstrate phones and explain how to send text messages. Fox, which airs "Idol," declined to comment.
