Analyst: US Airways makes strong trans-Atlantic partner

US Airways operates the best portal to Europe through its Philadelphia hub, says airline analyst Bob McAdoo, making the carrier an attractive merger partner for American Airlines. McAdoo says American's Oneworld alliance is "clearly deficient" in offering "seamless travel from anywhere in the U.S. to anywhere in Europe." But adding US Airways and its Philadelphia hub "would create a Oneworld North Atlantic network competitive with the Star and SkyTeam offerings," he says.
