Chinese province to build thousands of rural stores

Fujian, a province on the southeast coast of China, is planning to build 3,000 rural supermarkets and convenience stores this year. These stores, unlike their regular counterparts, will be required to purchase goods from local farmers. The government will also subsidise the rural stores.
