Continental announces 787 schedule

Continental Airlines has announced the route that it plans to fly its first Boeing 787. Continental said Wednesday it will begin flying 787s from Houston to Auckland, New Zealand, on Nov. 16, 2011, making it the first airline to "formally announce specific route plans for its 787 fleet." With six deliveries expected next year, Continental will be the U.S. launch customer for the 787, but delivery schedules and merger concerns make it uncertain whether the planes will fly under the Continental or United brand.
