Kingfisher plans Eastern Europe expansion

Kingfisher, the largest home-improvement retailer in Europe, is looking to Russia and Poland to expand. The company operates 13 Castorama stores in Russia and is planning "within the next 18 months" to launch a smaller outlet in Moscow, according to CEO Ian Cheshire. Kingfisher is considering testing the small-format stores before opening outlets in other European countries, Cheshire said.
