LANXESS and DuPont dive into biotechnology

In an effort to stay at the forefront of technology and green chemistry, chemical companies such as LANXESS and DuPont have begun investing in biotechnology. LANXESS plans to jointly develop and produce renewable-based isobutene with Gevo, and DuPont recently confirmed that its biobutanol demonstration facility will start up in the third quarter of this year.
