Researchers look at how exercise confers its benefits

Researchers are analyzing blood samples taken from runners right after they finished the Boston Marathon to discover how exercise achieves its beneficial effects. They say exercise affects fit people differently than it does those who are less fit, and they found 21 molecules, called metabolites, in the bloodstream that respond to exercise.
