Eco-conscious shoppers could be stocking up on lab-grown meat within five to 10 years, according to an entrepreneur working to market the technology. A company called New Harvest grows meat in petri dishes seeded with stem cells extracted from animal muscles. Once perfected, the process is expected to eliminate many of the ethical and environmental concerns usually associated with a carnivorous diet.
