White House is still on board for nationwide high-speed rail lines

A top official said Wednesday that President Barack Obama remains optimistic that Americans will one day soon zip to and fro on high-speed trains. "America is going to get in the high-speed intercity rail business," U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood vowed. LaHood said high-speed lines not only ease airport and highway congestion, but will also create thousands of jobs.
