Vermont governor signs universal health bill into law

Democratic Gov. Peter Shumlin of Vermont signed into law a measure that establishes a single-payer system in the state. "This law recognizes an economic and fiscal imperative," Shumlin said. The state has nearly 200,000 uninsured or underinsured residents that stand to benefit from the move.
