Wetlands art project develops creativity, critical-thinking skills

Students at a New Orleans elementary school unveiled a tile mural depicting issues surrounding the Louisiana wetlands. The yearlong project had students listening to guest speakers and conducting research about the impact of typical development, as well as events such as the Gulf oil spill and Hurricane Katrina. Funded by a grant, the project was designed to foster students' creativity and critical-thinking skills.
