Forum aims to help CloudEthernet clear network challenges

The newly formed CloudEthernet Forum aims to help the technology scale networks and clear the hurdles presented by big cloud services and drive better reliability and efficiency, Richard Chirgwin writes. The focus is reducing network management layers and simplifying the relationship between Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols. At the same time, the Metro Ethernet Forum has created a services operations committee aimed at consolidating purchase and delivery processes of MEF-defined services.
