Goats: Eco-friendly landscapers

At least three Wisconsin-based businesses hire out goats to clear land of underbrush and invasive vegetation. The goats quietly much away at unwanted plants, leaving the grass alone, and that's just how the landowners and businesses that hire the goats want it. The University of Wisconsin-Madison and the state Department of Natural Resources have studied the four-legged crews, finding that the goats were a better fit than machines and other animals, such as cattle, at the study site's rough terrain because they are small but hardy and easier to manage.
