Indian students create automated leg device to aid in walking

Mechanical-engineering students and faculty members at Srinivas Institute of Technology in India have developed an automated device designed to help physically challenged patients walk. The device, which is powered by a 12-volt battery, helps lift the thigh and lower limb, stretches the calf, and then pushes the entire leg forward or backward.
