Polio cases crop up in Africa

Officials have found two children in the Horn of Africa with polio-caused paralysis, as well as evidence of infection in two other children, raising concern that the disease could spread widely unless it is quickly contained. More than 450,000 children in southern Somalia were vaccinated through the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, which plans repeated vaccination efforts throughout the summer.
