Southwest Airlines is expanding in domestic markets as other airlines scale back domestic flying and add seats on international routes. CEO Gary Kelly recently noted that the current market is "a little tough." However, he also said the airline is stronger now than it has ever been. Analysts note that Southwest has recently expanded into hubs dominated by major carriers and airports served by other discounters.
