EU official: Regulations needed to protect social-media users

Facebook, MySpace and other social networks should be subject to new EU legislation aimed at protecting user privacy and personal data, according to the chief of the European Network and Information Security Agency. "Social networking sites are very useful social tools but we must make recommendations for how to better protect people from the risks these sites create," said Andreas Pirotti, executive director of ENISA.
